Alessandra
Prampolini
General Director, WWF Italy
Alessandra Prampolini has a background in economics for international cooperation and development, with a specific focus on access to and use of natural resources. After graduating, she joined WWF Italy, where she worked on environmental sustainability projects and the transformation of production chains. She then spent several years at T6 Ecosystems, a company conducting research on environmental and social issues. Driven by a deep interest in the delicate balance between current growth models, human well‑being, and the protection of the planet, she has developed strong expertise in building and managing public–private partnerships. She returned to WWF in 2018, and on January 2021 was appointed Director General, working to ensure that the Association plays an increasingly prominent role in building a world that puts nature and people at the centre, and in which responsibility and sustainability are the rule rather than the exception in politics, economics and our daily lives.
