Head of Design & Development, Emaar Properties

Fabio Grilli is the Head of Design and Development at Emaar Properties, bringing extensive experience in architecture, urban planning, and real estate development. He has played a leading role in shaping some of Dubai’s most iconic masterplans, including Dubai Creek Harbour, Emaar Beachfront, Dubai Hills Estate, and Port Rashid, among others.
His work spans major developments across the MENA region and Europe, focusing on large-scale, mixed-use environments that integrate innovation, sustainability, and liveability. Fabio is a sought-after speaker and academic collaborator, having lectured and worked with institutions such as Harvard University, IUAV University of Venice, and Sciences Po on topics ranging from sustainable design to the future of urban living. His involvement includes design research, academic programs, and studio-based initiatives exploring the evolution of cities.
He also serves as Special Advisor to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), supporting the reconstruction of territories affected by crises and natural disasters, with a focus on urban regeneration, infrastructure planning, and resilient housing solutions.
He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Ferrara and has worked with leading design firms in the Netherlands, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates.
