Climate and Earth Observation Analyst - World Food Programme (WFP)
Giancarlo Pini leads the Geospatial and Remote Sensing Unit at the World Food Programme (WFP). He joined WFP in 2013 after working at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) in the Monitoring Agriculture with Remote Sensing (MARS) team. With extensive experience in climate and remote sensing applications, he has worked with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), supporting the development of early warning systems across West Africa, including collaboration with the AGRHYMET Regional Center. He also conducted research at the Biometeorology Institute of the National Research Council of Italy and has been involved in the implementation of development projects in Africa.
