His Excellency Ambassador Hisham Badr, currently serving as the Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence, and Initiatives, and the General Coordinator of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in Egypt.
With a distinguished diplomatic career, including roles as Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the United Nations in Geneva and also Ambassador to Rome and Permanent Representative to the Rome Based Agencies (IFAD, FAO ,WFP), Ambassador to Japan, President of the Executive Committee UNHCR and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs and International Security he has significantly contributed to global discussions on agriculture, sustainability, and economic development.
An acclaimed academic with lectureships at the American University in Cairo and degrees from Oxford University and the American University in Cairo, H.E. Ambassador Hisham Badr is recognized for his commitment to fostering international cooperation and has been awarded the highest order in Japan, decorated by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan with the Order of the "Rising Sun".
