Born in Sheffield, England, in 1966, Marek graduated with First Class Honours in Industrial Design from Teesside University, before completing his postgraduate studies in Vehicle Design at the Royal College of Art in London. He joined Ford in 1999 as Chief Designer and later became Director of Design for Product at Ford North America. In 2005, Marek took up the role of Director of Design at Aston Martin, eventually becoming Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer.
One of Marek’s most important achievements at Aston Martin was overseeing the creation of the company’s purpose-built Design Studio at its Gaydon headquarters. Completed in under 12 months, the elegant timber structure received a RIBA Award in 2008 and remains the creative heart of the business.
