Massimiliano has been appointed VP CGA for Europe in January 2022. Italian, he considers himself a world citizen having lived in many countries across Europe as well as in the US and in South America. He has started his career in marketing in Vodafone Italy. He then started a professional journey at British American Tobacco as Manager Export Markets based in Amsterdam, and from there successfully moved into higher roles within the company. In 2004 he started leading the CGA function first in Italy then in London, Brussels (BAT Representation office to the EU institutions), and finally in BAT France based in Paris. After 14 years in the company, Max moved to GlaxoSmithKline, a global healthcare company, first as Head of Government Affairs, Communication and Market Access in Italy based in Verona and then promoted to Vice President Comms Gov't Affairs and Market Access for Europe based in London. In his last 7 years in GSK Massimiliano successfully navigated the highly regulated and complex pharma industry, demonstrating strong capabilities in Public Affairs, Crisis Management, CSR, Media management and market access.
Born in Palermo, Italy, High School graduated in Moravia NY, University degree in Statistics and Economy in Italy. He started travelling since his early days and lived and worked in Italy, US, Brazil, Belgium, Netherlands, France, and the UK. Speaks 5 languages, married to a French lady, Massimiliano is father of two great boys and lives in Zurich.
