Milena Messori is the EIB Group's representative in Italy (based in Rome) since February 2024. In this role, she is responsible for promoting the EIB Group’s strategic priorities and strengthening its relationships with Italian stakeholders, public institutions, and private-sector partners. She is also leading the Public Sector, Energy and Infrastructure - Italy and Malta Division.
Throughout her career at the EIB, Milena Messori has gained extensive experience, deep knowledge, and proficiency in international operations, particularly outside the European Union. Her previous appointments include Interim Director for the Private Sector and Head of Equity and Venture Capital Division.
Between 2009 and 2012, Milena Messori served as Head of the EIB office in Bucharest, Romania.
Milena Messori started her career at the World Bank, where she was responsible for infrastructure and complex projects across Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
She holds an MBA from INSEAD, a master’s degree in international Affairs from George Washington University - Elliott School as a Fulbright scholar, and a degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the University of Trieste.
