Monica Lucarelli is the Deputy Mayor of Rome for Productive Activities, Equal Opportunities and Investment Attraction, a role she has held since 2021. She leads a strategic agenda focused on building a sustainable, inclusive and future-oriented city, placing people at the center of innovation and growth.
She also serves as Chair of the Board of CTE Roma – Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Roma, where she drives Rome’s technological transformation by fostering collaboration between startups, academia, corporations and public institutions, accelerating the city’s innovation ecosystem.
In 2025, she was named among StartupItalia’s Unstoppable Women, recognizing her leadership and commitment to inclusive innovation.
With a background as an engineer and entrepreneur, Monica holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome and an MBA in Industrial Engineering and Management from University of Rome Tor Vergata. She has held senior roles at Fiat Auto, Italotreno NTV and Ised Spa, building extensive expertise in innovation, digital transformation and strategic management.
A mother of three, she champions a human-centered approach to innovation, focused on building a future where everyone can belong, contribute and thrive.
