1. No10 – PRIVATE SECRETARY TO THE PRIME MINISTER – SEPTEMBER 2022 TO DECEMBER 2024
Principle adviser to the Prime Minister on Indo-Pacific, Europe, Economic Security, National Security, Trade, Development, Science and Technology, Climate Change and G7/G20.
Led large complex policy teams including on a new economic security strategy agreed by NSC and the US UK Atlantic Declaration.
Led Prime Minister’s delegations to UNGA (NYC), COP27 (Egypt), EPC (Moldova) G7 (Japan) and G20 (Bali and Delhi). Led on Number 10 response to HLMTQ’s funeral and HMTK’s coronation.
Member of the National Security Council (Officials) and Joint Intelligence Committee.
2. FCDO – PRIVATE SECRETARY TO THE FOREIGN SECRETARY – AUGUST 2020 TO AUGUST 2022
Principle adviser to the Foreign Secretary on Indo-Pacific, Russia Ukraine, AUKUS, Global Health, Education, Climate Change and the Overseas Territories.
Delivered on Foreign Secretary’s priorities including a new China/Taiwan policy, International COVID response and AUKUS implementation.
Led Foreign Secretary Delegations to Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia, Poland and Geneva.
3. DFID SOUTH SUDAN – DEPUTY HEAD OF POLICY – NOVEMBER 2017 TO NOVEMBER 2019
Led policy team delivering high quality analysis and advice to Ministers, senior officials and parliamentarians on UK’s response to crisis in South Sudan.
Developed and implemented UK’s international policy strategy on humanitarian and development issues.
Led project to better understand and mitigate the unintended consequences of the international community’s humanitarian response in South Sudan.
4. DFID TANZANIA – POLICY AND PROGRAMME ADVISER – OCTOBER 2016 TO OCTOBER 2017
Senior Responsible Owner for the Human Development Innovation Fund (£35m) and the Tanzania Urban Resilience Fund (£40m).
Led policy team working on the ‘Kaberuka Dialogue Process’ to establish a new dialogue mechanisms between the Government of Tanzania and Development Partners.
DFID Tanzania Leadership Team member. Led on strategic delivery of open policy making within the office with a view to bringing better policy and programmatic decisions.
5. UNICEF HQ NEW YORK – FUND MANAGER – APRIL 2016 TO OCTOBER 2016
Designed and implemented the Global Fund to End Violence Against Children supported by £40m ODA grant from HMG.
Established a large team to create all administrative and governance mechanisms including Steering Committee, high-level board and independent roster of experts.
Solicited grantee applications from select organisations. Established influencing strategy to maximise applications from Government representatives based at the UN.
6. DFID VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS – POLICY OFFICER – OCT 2015 TO APRIL 2016
Team lead on emerging policy work of violence against children; included conducting a cross-Government review on the UK’s support to children in transit during the migration crisis.
Lead on network uplift on violence against women and girls. Travelled to country offices to upskill UKB and CBS staff on programming.
Successfully co-ordinated DFID’s contribution and response to the ICAI review on Violence against women and girls.
